Warped Tour

When I found out that Warped Tour was coming to San Diego on July 6th i was so psyced because i havn't been to a concert in a while and i was beginning to feel the concert withdrawel. we got there and already there was a line formed to get tickets and it went around the block. I was worried becuase i thought that that was the line to get in, luckily my friends and i got our tickets the night before.

It was my first time at Warped Tour so i didn't know what to expect. As soon as we got inside it was insanly crowded, just like i like it. A lot of people= fun. It was loud, of course, i wasn't expecting anything other then that because i could already hear the music when my friends and i were driving down the freeway to get there. I looked around and there were booths of merchendise and a lot of other things fun to do. We looked around, did some shopping [the concert tees were surprizingly really cheep]. I ended up buying about 50 dollars worth of merchendise that day. more then what my budget allowed.

We hit the first stage and it was Battle Of The Bands where local bands got a chance to be heard. As we were walking there i heard a familliar song. On that stage was a group of my friends that i went to middle school with. I couldn't beleive that they were performing at Warped Tour. How big was that? We stayed for their set and headded off to the bigger stages.

At the Main Stages there were tons of people waiting there for the next band to perform. The bands performed one after the other so there was no time, or music wasted. We waited about a half an hour for Thursday to come on stage. We were relitivly far from the stage, trying to stay away from the Mosh Pits because it was my first time and i didn't know what to expect. Thrusday rocked the house playing a half an hour set. After Thrusday we went to watch Taking Back Sunday and that's when i got my first experiance in a Mosh Pit. We were about three feet away from the stage and as soon as the band hit the stage everyone was pushing forward to try and get closer to the band. I of course was sandwiched in between four guys. Then people started to stage dive and one guy was right on top of me so i was surrounded by guys. I got really scared so i asked the guy next to me to push him away so i can get out of the crowd. By now i had lost my friends in the sea of people so i was scared out of my mind, the guy next to me saw my face and offered to help me get out, i took his hand and he lead me out of the mosh pit. when we got out we both watched from a safe distance away from the pit, talking and laughing.

After Taking Back Sunday my friends and i met up and had lunch. My friend Claire's dad worked as secrity at the arena were it was being held so we didn't have to wait in a long line or pay to get food. We went backstage and they had a food table so we dug in. As we were eating we watched as bands crossed our paths, we sat there like a bunch of idiots staring at them as they walked by. We saw the guys of New Found Glory pass by on a golf cart, Coheed and Cambria passed by and we saw the drummer of Yellowcard making his way on stage to do soundcheck. we were in awe but we had to leave as soon as we finished eating.

We waited a half an hour for Yellowcard to hit the stage, Ryan Key was onstage hiding behind an amp listening to the band that was playing one stage over. he thought that we couldn't see him but boy was he wrong. His head is shaved now, sadly, no more blonde hair. I have to tell you, it was the craziest mosh pit that i've ever seen and i was smack dab in the middle of it. It was actually fun at first until i lost my flip-flop in the crowd. i found it again and started jumping up and down when i lost it again. I must have lost it three times before i finally got out.

For the rest of the night my friends and i stayed away from the mosh pits because our feet were sore. We watched Story Of the Year and they were awesome, Anti-Flag and Bad Religion. At First, we were kinda bummed out because Lillix, Simple Plan, Jimmy Eat World and Good Charlotte wern't there but it all payed off. New Found Glory was the last band on the Main Stages and wow, I had an Eargasm listening to them They're so good when they're live. It was perfect because it was just getting dark and the sun set right above the stage. it was perfect.

We left right after NFG played and we wern't surprized that there was a long line just go get out of the parking lot. We had a blast and a lot of memories to go with it.
