SSM: What have you been up to lately?
Mandy: Lately, I've just been trying to get things off the ground again. Starting over, taking a new direction-I feel like now, I can be whatever I want to be, and sing about whatever I want to, since I'm completely in charge again.
SSM: Why did you leave Mike Caputo?
Mandy: We just disagreed on a few things...I decided it was best to part ways. I think a part of growing, is trying new things with new people.
SSM: Do you have a new official site?
Mandy: Yes, it is being made right now. It should be up very soon. The address is going to be www.MandyVentriceFans.com , if you join my newsletter (temporarily at www.groups.yahoo.com/group/mandyventriceofficial) you can get updates on when the site is officially up.
SSM: Will there be a new CD for you in the near future?
Mandy: Definitely. With or without a record company, I will be releasing something next year.
SSM: Do you have an idea when you'll be touring again?
Mandy: Not really. I do shows here and there, mostly in NYC, with my partner, Aaron Accetta. Just minor, acoustic shows. Hopefully, I'll have a full band put together soon, and I'll start doing more shows.
SSM: How did you like singing with Rachel Loy back in June?
Mandy: She's a very cool girl. It was fun. I had a good time.
SSM: Who is your inspiration?
Mandy: My inspiration, in life in general...is definitely my family and my friends. Musically, I'm inspired by so much stuff; by music, my life, by other artists...everything around me.
SSM: Who are your musical influences?
Mandy: Growing up, it was mostly my dad. But everybody from Mariah, Janet, Mary J. Blige, to Pat Benetar and Sheryl Crow.
SSM: Who is your favorite singer?
Mandy: Vocally, Mariah Carey is the best.
SSM: How old were you when you started singing?
Mandy: Professionally, I was about 12.
SSM: What is your favorite type of music to sing?
Mandy: Rock and R&B
SSM: Where would you love to perform? u can pick from absoluely anywhere.
Mandy: I would love to perform in my hometown, where my whole family could come.
SSM: Where is the one place that you always wanted to go to?
Mandy: Australia
SSM: Why?
Mandy: I have no idea why. haha
SSM: What is the one place that you go when you just want to be alone?
Mandy: Typically, my room.
SSM: Are you really going out with Garrett from Brand New?
Mandy: No we're just friends now. He's on tour, I don't get to talk to him much anymore.
SSM: Have you ever been recognized when your at the mall or movies etc.?
Mandy: nope, I'm not famous, silly! People come up to me at concerts though, on the east coast, not a lot though.
