SSM: Can you describe a regular day for you?
SSM: Which is more often?
SSM: What made you decide that you wanted to pursue singing?
SSM: After not being chosen as one of the American Juniors, did that break your spirit? Or make you think maybe I don’t want to do this anymore?
SSM: What is your favorite part of being a performer?
SSM: Last summer you were part of the Camplified tour, how was that?
SSM: How much say did you have when choosing the songs for your CD?
SSM: If you could do a duet with anyone alive or dead, who would you want to do it with?
SSM: How long did it take you to record your CD?
SSM: Is it weird to have people come up and ask for your autograph and want to take pictures with you?
SSM: What is one modern convenience you just couldn’t live without?
SSM: If you could magically be given any talent, what talent would you want?
SSM: What was your favorite Disney movie when you were a little kid?
Is that still your favorite now?
SSM: What is the one interview question you always prepare yourself to answer but then it doesn’t get asked?
SSM: If you could have any super power, what power would you want, and why?
Katelyn: Hmmm. A regular day. . .well. . .like when I’m on the road or when I’m at home?
Katelyn: Oh, gosh, I don’t know. Well when I’m off performing somewhere, we usually fly in and then stay in a hotel, get up the next day and go to wherever I’m singing, do sound checks, meet people, perform and then sign autographs and all that stuff. I don’t know it that’s too entertaining. When I’m at home usually when I can I like to sleep in. get up hang out with my friends and I don’t know it just depends on what there is to do. I mean I live in this really small town. If you want to go to the movies or go to a decent restaurant you have to travel like forty-five minutes. I don’t know. Maybe that.
Katelyn: Well I’ve been singing for all my life but I really, when I did American Juniors when I was thirteen was when I realized I wanted to pursue it. Coming from this small town in Georgia and then going out to Hollywood all summer on this national television show, I just really fell in love with it. And I knew it was all I wanted to do.
Katelyn: I mean I was a little disappointed, yeah, but after we didn’t make it there was a bunch of us, well, five of us that didn’t and five that did obviously and they sent those of us who didn’t make it to Las Vegas and there was just some things that were cool. Like if you didn’t make it you got to go to the Gladys Knight show and things that we got to do. I was kind of upset but it turned out to be okay.
Katelyn: Probably the performance part. I love performing live in front of an audience and that’s just a lot of fun so that’s probably my favorite part.
Katelyn: It was a lot of fun. I liked it. It was my first like um, tour I guess you’d say and there were a bunch of different kids on it. Some were around my age. It was a lot of fun. I really liked it.
Katelyn: I had a lot of say. They would send me the songs and I would listen to them and if I didn’t like it I’d tell them I didn’t like it and then if I did we were work on getting the song and recording it, but I had to like it first. That was a big part of it.
Katelyn: Gosh, um I really like love Christina Aguilera’s voice. I think she has such an awesome voice and that’d be really awesome to do a duet with her. Anyone like with her or Whitney Houston or someone that can really belt it out.
Katelyn: It took me about two months I guess. I went up to New York for like a winter and recorded my CD while I was up there.
Katelyn: Yeah it’s definitely really weird. Especially after the show, I was thirteen years old and people would come up to me and ask for my autograph. At first like a lot of other kids on the show were more recognized than others so we’d walk around with the more recognizable people and then they’d recognize us after they recognized them, but it was really weird. I was definitely not used to it.
Katelyn: My cell phone definitely.
Katelyn: Gosh, probably writing. I mean I’m not very good, well I’m probably okay at writing. But I’m just such a perfectionist that like instead of just writing something I have to make sure it sounds good and I guess it’s just hard for me to write songs to sing and stuff like that, so probably writing.
Katelyn: I really liked Beauty and the Beast. The other day I re-watched Beauty and the Beast after like a really long time and I really like it.
Yeah, probably. I like all of them though.
Katelyn: Probably like about, well I get asked about this sometimes, about dating and guys.
Katelyn: Probably to know what someone’s thinking.
