Greg Raposo Show
July 24, 2004

On July 24th, my mom, dad, brother, and I left our house at 10:00AM and headed to the Akron Zoo in Ohio. I live about fifteen minutes away, so we arrived at the zoo at about 10:30. My brother wanted to look at the animals, and since Greg's first show didn't start until one o clock, we walked around and saw the penguins, lions, tigers, bears [oh myyy] and lots of other animals. At 11:30, my mom and I headed to the stage area and I got front row for Greg's first performance. After screaming for about ten minutes, Greg pops out of these nearby bushes while singing My Life. The show was great. Greg was full of energy, and he interacted with all of his fans. During one song, Greg even came over to me and held my hand twice. The second time he walked away, he looked over his shoulder and said, "Cute smile." Greg sang six songs in all; My Life, Take Me Back Home, Every Summer, Worthless, She's Leaving, and Look For Me. The set list was right in front of him, but somehow he managed to mess up, and he announced Worthless, when really he was about to sing Every Summer. It was quite funny. Another thing Greg tried to accomplish was jumping off his stool and landing on his feet. When he fell almost and almost died, shouts of "OMG!!!" filled the crowd. When Greg got up, he was laughing, and said, "I love how you guys think I'm hurt. Believe me, I've done crazier things." He also thanked Nina, his manager, who was selling merchandise and said "Where's Nina? There's Nina. I love you Nina." After his show, Greg did a meet and greet, and when I met him, I gave him a poster I made. He looked so happy and asked, "Is this for me?" I told him it was, and he said, "Jennifer, right?" since I had my name on the poster. I had Greg sign a picture, and after he took a picture with me, he asked, "Did you hear me tell you that you have the cutest smile?" He's so sweet. I waited around the stage area after I met Greg, because I was staying for the second show he was putting on at three. The second show was basically the same as the first, with Greg jumping off the stool [not killing himself this time though] and telling the crowd about how he flew in from Portugal the night before, where his family still is. He told us that there are tiny streets which are really meant for horse carriages, and you're in these little cars driving down the road. He also thanked all the parents who brung out the beautiful girls who were at his show. At one point he even said, "Thanks to all the parents for making such beautiful babies, beautiful girls." I couldn't stay for the second meet and greet, but by the sounds of it, it was just as lovely as the first. I left the zoo a bigger fan of Greg's, and I hope he comes back to Ohio really soon.
