Everlife is a Christian rock group, made up of three sisters; Amber, Sarah and Julia. Recently signed to Hollywood records for their second album and with multiple Disney projects in the works, you can expect to hear from these sisters.

SSM: Who has been the biggest inspiration to you guys musically?
Sarah: We grew up on 50s and 60s rock n roll and like our parents, like our Dad loves pink Floyd, and Eric Clapton and all this kind of stuff and my mom likes oldies music, so we all kind of just grew up with that kind of stuff. Like switchfoot and u2 Aerosmith.
Julia: ACDC (are we allowed to say this stuff, like ACDC they’re not a very good) Amber: musically, musically, not moral content but yeah,
Julia: We definitely have our own mix of things we have our own styles of music Amber loves Jazz and stuff, Sara loves rock and roll and more R&B sort of stuff, it mixes.

SSM: When you guys get in front of a live audience what’s the first thing that goes through your mind?
Sarah: I hope I don’t fall.
Amber: Did I turn my hair straightener off? Usually that’s the first thing that went through my mind because I always burn myself on it. No I try to pick out like three people and make eye contact the whole time because usually that means they’re going to show up at the table later on and I get to talk to them. it’s like anchor points
Julia: I really don’t think I think anything.
Julia: To sing the right words.
Sarah: To remember to smile.

SSM: What goes through your mind when you see yourself in a magazine or hear yourself on the radio?
Sarah: Oh my gosh, We cried. We still do now like any time you hear the song on the radio even the millionth time you’ve heard it you’re like oh my gosh other people are hearing to this or other people are watching this so it’s just a thrill, other worldly.

SSM: Now I was talking to your Mom earlier and she said you just got signed to a new label.
All: We did.

SSM: Are you guys excited about that?
Amber:Extremely It’s a whole new year a whole new everlife. We’ve been having fun with Disney this last year. We’re excited to see what’s going to happen.

SSM: How do you feel being sisters and accomplishing your dream together?
Sarah: Wow it’s really cool. We were just talking about how we never fight. Ever. No, we do a lot actually. It’s kind of funny I think being on the road there’s like these little idiosyncrasies that people have that start bugging you. And like we know how to make each other made. You know what buttons to push, but at the same time it’s usually about clothes and makeup and who took whose dvds. Anything that’s ever been serious has been like the three of us kind of lock arms and kind of take that in stride. We get over it really quick.
Amber: Yeah we don’t hold grudges. It’s like I forgot we had a fight earlier, whoops.

SSM: If you couldn’t sing, what other career would you choose?
Amber: I don’t think I really can sing. I don’t even know what I’m doing here.
Julia: She didn’t mean to say that.
Amber: I’m joking, I’m sorry.
Sarah: I don’t know. I really like graphic design. Like art stuff, So, probably do something with that. I can’t imagine not doing this. We’ve been doing this for like eight years.
Amber: I can’t either.
Julia: I love interior design.
Sarah: Oh she does, she’s like a little trading spaces over here.

SSM: What is one memory from the Jingle Jam tour that you think you’ll have with you the longest?
Amber: This one right now. The B5 boys putting on our jewelry.
Sarah: Pretty much everything that we brought with us for the past week is on the B5 boys. I think being able to see just a whole different side of the music world, and to be able to travel with these guys it’s very eye opening. It’s really fun. And the fact that they’re brothers and we’re sisters we all can relate to each other.

SSM: How do you feel when girls say they look up to you?
Sarah: I feel very nervous.
Julia and Amber: Yeah.
Amber: Like wow don’t look up to me don’t look up to me. It’ s really cool though.
Sarah: I mean we want to be.....We used to have that when we were younger you’d always have people that you were like man those people are really cool I wanna be that way or do that, so it’s really encouraging. We never want to like.. when we were growing up it’d be like oh that persons amazing and then something would happen where they wouldn’t stand up for what they believed in. We’re always going to stand up for what we believe in.If you have different beliefs that’s fine but we’re going to always stay the same.
Amber: We’ve learned that every single person you ever meet will let you down. The only person that’s not going to let you down is God. We try to point whoever says that to Him.

SSM: What is the one interview questions that you always prepare yourself to answer, but then it doesn’t get asked?
Julia: Oh wow I don’t think anyone’s ever asked that before –that one.
Sarah: I don’t know.
Amber: What’s your favorite color. Nobody ever asks us that.
Sarah: You prepare yourself to answer that?!
Amber: Well I’m prepared. I know what it is.
Sarah: Amber, so you’re walking around all day going “green, green, green?”
Julia: There was one interview where they didn’t ask us how we got started. That was kind of weird. When we first started, like really new like I was like 8. It freaked us out to do interviews and we had like these papers we’d be like okay, we’d read what we were supposed to say.
Sarah: One guy came up to Julia once and asked her how it felt to be the youngest child. And she said “I’ve always been the youngest.” She thought he was like completely out of his mind.

SSM: What is one thing you’d love to do but you’re too scared to try?
Sarah: Skydiving. No actually I think I’d try that.
Amber: Snowboarding.
Julia: Flying an airplane.
Sarah: Julias scared to drive. She hasn’t driven yet.
Julia: No I’m a good driver. I’m pretty good at the Nascar racing thing. Seriously I have a dream about flying a plane but I could never do it.
Amber: Base jumping wouldn’t that be fun.
Julia: Pogo sticking.
Sarah and Amber: (laughs)
Julia: what?! I’ve never been able to do it before. It freaks me out. I’ve never wanted to try it either.

SSM: If you could have one super power, what would you pick?
Amber: I wanna fly.
Julia: This is my favorite interview.
Sarah: I know, this is the best interview ever.
Sarah: Let’s see. Just one. I’ve always wanted to jump off buildings and be able to fly. All: Yeah, we wanna fly.

SSM: What was your favorite Disney movie when you were younger?
?: Aladin

?: Beauty and the Beast
Julia: Um, Toy Story. I did like Tarzan. That was the cool thing about the song we did for Disney “Strangers Like Me,” we used to sing it all the time. I would sit in the basement and sing the phil Collins records and we used to want to sing that song and it was the first song we did with Disney records and we were like this is kinda cool.

SSM: If you could guest star on any tv show what would it be?
Amber: We don’t really watch tv.
Sarah: Amber would want to guest star on Friends but that can’t happen anymore. That was her favorite.
Sarah: What tv shows do we watch? Guest star? I don’t know. I always wanted to be on full house but that can’t happen either.
Amber: Seriously I think they’re all shows that we used to watch when we were younger. We really don’t have time to watch television anymore. We watch a lot of movies on the road.

SSM: What is one modern convenience that you can’t live without?
Sarah: My phone.
Amber: Hair straightener.
Sarah: You can’t live without your hair straightener? Your hair is straight!!
Julia: I can’t live without makeup.
Sarah: Oh come on Julia.
Julia: I can’t.

SSM: Since it’s new years eve, do you guys have any new years resolutions?
Sarah: We want to keep doing what we’re doing. Even more so, Amber was saying before just to be better in our playing, our songwriting, our singing our harmonies and just everything in the studio and production. Knowing exactly how to do our craft to the fullest. So we know that we’ve been able to accomplish that and I think like Sara said earlier make sure we know who we are and remember where we came from and why we do what we do and not to get caught up in anything that comes our way. But it’s cool because we keep each other grounded.
